CBC Day 3

Thursday, June 10, 2010

The CBC challenges for Days 2 and 4 (and now 5, come to think of it) will have to wait.

But I did have 'heavy metal' on my mind................in Sydney it doesn't get more heavy metal than the Sydney Harbour Bridge, known to some as the 'Giant Coathanger'.

I thought the black and white added to the heaviness, so to speak.

CBC Day 1

I have had a madly busy day - school drop off, shops, school assembly, class lunch with other parents, school pickup and then a spontaneous trip to the zoo............crazy!! Which has meant that my attemp to catch up on assignments for the Creativity Boot Camp has had to bend to my schedule!

Day 1 topic: ivory. Taronga Zoo has the most amazing view of Sydney Harbour - and I love a glimpse of a single white sail.

Quite nice too, in colour - can't decide which I prefer more.

Boot camp!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

By happy coincidence, I have just discovered a Creativity Boot Camp which sounds right up my alley - it meets me where I am at the moment (thinking a lot about my own creativity and where to go to from here...!). Stay tuned. I have about 4 days to catch up on amongst a hectic family life over the next little while. But it's night time here in Sydney so will have to think on it tomorrow........

Ballerina bag

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Last week my kids were invited to a special friend's 2nd Birthday party.

I whipped this little bag up pretty quickly and I'm really happy with the result! I used this tutorial.

The inside is lined with white polka dots on pink (which suited the theme of the party, which was 'spotty'):

Will definately be making this one again!

Elephant

Monday, February 15, 2010

An elephant for my little boy. Made with Ikea fabric. The pattern is from Joelle Hoverson's Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts. Cute!

Monkey do!

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

The fourth sock monkey I've made. Really he's a monkey baby - the socks weren't really long enough so his arms and legs seem a little short. The other monkeys I've made had much longer limbs.

This little fella was made for the son of one of my best friends who had never heard of a sock monkey. This pressie was my way of showing her.
PS. He does have a lovely long tail - I think it fell behind the table in this shot.

Crocheted bag

Progress of the granny square:

However I've now unravelled it, and may come back to granny squares in future projects. For now, I need the cotton for this project, destined to become a bag like this amazing one:

I'm using leftovers from this cardie I made a couple of years ago for my daughter:

It's Elann Sonata cotton which I had sent from Canada and it's perfect for this project, I think!
